Smart India Internal Hackathon
The Smart India Internal Hackathon 2024 is a pre-qualifier event for the national-level Smart India Hackathon (SIH). This internal round is organized exclusively for Andhra University students, providing an opportunity to showcase their innovative skills, solve real-world problems, and secure a place in the all-India category of SIH.

Theme: Problem statements will cover diverse areas such as Smart Education, Agriculture, Health, Smart Cities, Transport & Logistics, Environment, and more.
Team Size: Minimum 4 to a maximum of 6 members per team. Teams should have a diverse mix of participants (optional but encouraged), including at least one female member (mandatory).

Prizes
  • Top 3 teams with a working solution will be awarded prizes.
  • Some winners can also expect incubation support in the form of space, mentoring, internships, job offers and more.
Facilities
  • Workspace for participating teams on Monday, 15 September from 8 AM to 3 PM.
  • Wi-Fi access (participants may also want to bring their own dongles in case they find the Wi-Fi speeds to be slow).

Schedule
15 September 2024 (in-person at the ā-Hub)
  • 8 - 8:30 AM: Report to the reception desk of ā-Hub South-1
  • Up to 2 PM: Presentation of solutions (preferably working prototypes).
  • 2 - 3 PM: Judges deliberate and decide on the top 5 teams. Simultaneously, all teams prepare their pitches.
  • 3 - 4 PM: .
  • 4 - 4:30 PM: Judges deliberate
  • 4:30 PM - 5 PM: Awards and valedictory ceremony.
Rules & Regulations
  1. Eligibility: Open to all students currently enrolled at Andhra University.
  2. Team Size: Each team must consist of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 members.
  3. Team Composition: Teams are encouraged to include diverse members, including at least one female participant (mandatory).
  4. Themes: Choose problem statements from the official SIH 2024 themes focusing on real-world challenges.
  5. Idea Submission: Ideas should be original and not previously submitted in any other competition. Duplicate ideas will be disqualified.
  6. Prototyping: Work on functional prototypes that demonstrate the solution's practicality, scalability, and usability.
  7. Evaluation Criteria: Solutions will be judged based on innovation, technical feasibility, user experience, impact, and presentation.
  8. Plagiarism: Strictly no plagiarism; only original work is allowed. Any team found violating this rule will be disqualified.
  9. Use of Technology: Use of open-source libraries and third-party APIs is allowed, but proper credits and licenses must be mentioned.
  10. Code of Conduct: Maintain a professional attitude, respect fellow competitors, and adhere to ethical coding practices throughout the event.
  11. Mentorship: Teams will be provided with mentors to guide and help refine their solutions. Teams are encouraged to utilize this support by reaching out to the organizers.
  12. Data Privacy: All teams must ensure the privacy and security of any data used during the hackathon.
  13. Intellectual Property: All code and solutions developed during the hackathon will remain the intellectual property of the respective teams.
  14. Decision of Judges: The decision of the judges will be final and binding. No further queries will be entertained.
  15. Time Management: Teams must adhere to the schedule provided by the organizing committee. Any delays can lead to disqualification.
  16. Prototype Presentation: Each team will get a limited time slot for presentation. Prepare a concise and impactful demonstration of your solution.
  17. Certificate of Participation:Certificates will only be awarded to participants who are present during the final presentation and valedictory ceremony.
YUKTI Portal Registration
To participate in the internal hackathon, it is mandatory to complete your registration on the YUKTI Portal. Here’s how you can complete the process:
  • Visit the YUKTI Portal: Link
  • Sign in: Use your university credentials. If you are a new user, create an account using your AU email ID.
  • Navigate to the Repository section and select the appropriate category for your submission:
    ○ Idea/PoC: For early-stage concepts or proof-of-concepts that need further development.
    ○ Innovation/Prototype: For more developed prototypes that demonstrate the feasibility of your solution.
  • Complete Submission: Fill in all required fields, including your team details, problem statement, and project description.
  • Upload Supporting Documents: Attach presentations, videos, or other materials that clearly explain your idea.
  • Submit Before Deadline: Ensure your submission is completed by 7th September 2024.

  • Idea/PoC: For initial ideas or proof-of-concepts that need validation and further development.
  • Innovation/Prototype: For developed prototypes demonstrating the feasibility and potential impact of the solution.
